Skokie SD 68 board adopts tentative 2025–26 budget and schedules public hearing for Sept. 18

On a motion by Board member Jeffrey Sterbenc, seconded by Jill Scheer, the Board of Education adopted the Tentative Budget for Skokie School District 68 for fiscal year 2025–2026 and authorized the administration to make the budget available for public inspection at least 30 days prior to its planned adoption at the September 18, 2025 Board meeting. The Board also authorized publication of the Notice of Public Hearing on the Tentative Budget, scheduled for Sept. 18, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
The motion passed on a roll call vote with all present members voting AYE (Glickman, Lonigro, Scheer, Sterbenc and Warshaw); two members were recorded absent (Bell-Jordan and Roth). The action begins the statutorily required public-review period ahead of final budget adoption in September; specific budget line amounts were not presented in the motion and are to be made available for public inspection as directed.
