The Corte Madera Town Council experienced audio difficulties at the start of its Aug. 4 special meeting, with one remote participant appearing frozen or muted on video. Staff described a configuration problem in which the system was "not doing a duplex," preventing some participants from hearing and seeing simultaneously.
Council and staff tested alternate connections, including asking an attendee to try speaking and recommending a phone call-in for the remote participant. After the tests members confirmed they could hear one another and the meeting moved forward. "There was a configuration issue, on the system setup, where it was not doing a duplex, meaning you can't hear and see in the same session," a staff member said during the troubleshooting.
