Shorewood board adopts FY2025–26 budget with only minor changes from workshop
Summary
The board adopted the FY2025–26 village budget after staff said it remained largely unchanged since the budget workshop, with two small updates (mulch cost and police‑facility study quotes). Finance staff presented the fiscal year 2025–26 proposed budget to the board, noting the document was largely unchanged from the budget workshop and that only two modest changes were made: adjustments for mulch pricing in park maintenance and updated quotes for police‑facility studies. "It is the culmination of the work staff has been putting together since last October and remains largely unchanged since our budget workshop," the finance presenter said.
A trustee asked whether the Auburn Chase impact fees discussed earlier were reflected in the budget; finance staff replied that development‑related fees are not budgeted until projects are underway because of timing uncertainty. Trustees thanked staff for the work and the board adopted the budget by resolution.
The adoption enables the village to proceed with the fiscal plan for the next year; staff said they will revisit budget line items if and when development fees materialize.
