Bridal Transportation asked the board for feedback on a concept plan to convert the former Schwann’s site at 1001 Geneva Street for office and indoor truck maintenance use. Community-development staff described the proposal: the company would bring two mechanics on site, convert four bay doors for maintenance, and limit work to indoor light maintenance and DOT-required safety inspections. Staff said the applicant estimates "1 to 2 trucks being worked on per day" and "about 5 trucks back and forth per day" for the site’s operations.
Trustees and nearby residents questioned whether 53-foot trailers could safely turn on the site, whether a ten-stall parking plan could become de facto fleet storage given the applicant’s larger fleet, and how the site would address stormwater and ventilation. The applicant’s engineer said the proposed squared-off gravel area would provide roughly 75 feet for truck storage and turning radius and that best-management practices could be included; trustees asked the applicant to continue coordination with staff and to limit parking to reduce the appearance of full-fleet storage near residences.
