The Village of Shorewood adopted a resolution establishing a sewer oversizing fee for certain properties upon annexation related to the Auburn Chase agreement. Staff said Lennar agreed to oversize the sanitary sewer to accommodate approximately 284 acres of future single-family growth; in exchange the village reduced sanitary sewer tap-on fees by $365,000, the amount of the oversizing cost. The draft resolution proposes passing that $365,000 to the benefiting developers via an acreage-based fee.
Staff noted the acreage fee is currently $1,285.25 and will be adjusted according to the Consumer Price Index so it better reflects money value at the time of development. A trustee moved to approve the resolution establishing a sewer oversizing fee upon annexation; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
