Highway to pave Nestle and Stabenow; code officer lists permits, assessor readies for grievance

Highway Superintendent Steve Oare reported at the May 8 meeting that the Highway Department will next pave Nestle and Stabenow roads.
Code Enforcement Officer Keith Fergusson provided a status report listing recent inspections (two at Clinton Road, and inspections at Buel Road and Smith Lane), issued permits (a 30'x50' garage on Clinton Road; a 40'x60' building on MacPhail Road with specified living and garage spaces; and a rear deck replacement on State Highway 10), and several pending items including framing and foundation inspections and a small building for a sawmill and a horse barn. Fergusson said he will obtain fee schedules from neighboring municipalities to build the town's fee schedule.
Sole Assessor Charlene Ruszkowski reported she is preparing for grievance and said the town is currently on track to be at a 100% equalization rate. The minutes do not record any board votes tied to the permitting or paving items at this meeting.
