Highway Superintendent Steven Oare told the board he wanted permission to use $40,000 received for Nestle Road repairs to help pay for a new tractor and said CHIPS funds could also be applied to the purchase.
"He requested that he be allowed to apply the $40,000, received for Nestle Road repairs be used to help pay for a new tractor," the meeting record states. Oare explained the town has sufficient CHIPS funding to cover paving and the tractor purchase and said the new pickup is receiving its plow assembly and will soon be in service.
Oare also addressed sand logistics, saying two sandpiles—one leftover from last season and a newly erected pile—will both be used this winter to ease loading in different parts of town; unused material can be stockpiled for next season.
