Administration recommended changing one teacher institute day from April 14, 2026 to Jan. 5, 2026 so staff can use midyear data to make instructional adjustments and updates to school improvement plans. The superintendent said January timing provides a better midpoint for data review and instructional shifts.
"We would like to suggest and recommend that we move the current teacher institute day of 04/14/2026 to 01/05/2026," the superintendent explained. Board members asked whether remote professional development would be feasible in the event of inclement weather; administration said it would plan for pivoting to remote PD when necessary and will include remote-learning preparation in August institute programming.
The board approved the calendar amendment on a roll call vote.
