Early Childhood Center construction progresses; district tweaks site design

The superintendent told the board the district's Early Childhood Center (ECC) project is moving quickly: site demolition and installation of storm piping are underway and staff are meeting weekly with architects and site supervisors to refine details including playground shade, garbage-can placement and wayfinding signage.
"Right now, they're basically demoing the site and doing all the installation of storm piping and everything underground schematically that you can imagine. It's moving along wonderfully," the superintendent said. She noted small changes such as adding trees for shade, selecting interior brick, and replacing old unit vents as part of broader optimization while walls are exposed.
Administrators said some traffic-pattern adjustments and new directional signage will be needed to accommodate the ECC, the education service center and the junior high. The superintendent committed to providing ongoing updates to the board as the project advances.
