District reports 2023-24 disciplinary and safety incident counts
Summary
Assistant principal presented the School Safety & Educational Climate report: elementary recorded 1 assault and 4 threats; Jr./Sr. High recorded 1 assault, 7 incidents of discrimination/harassment/bullying (excluding cyberbullying), 3 cyberbullying incidents, 6 threats, and 3 drug incidents for 2023-24.
At the Aug. 22 meeting the board received the School Safety & Educational Climate (SSEC) report summarizing 2023-24 incidents.
The assistant principal reported the elementary school logged 1 assault and 4 threats (other than bomb threats or false alarms). The junior/senior high reported 1 assault; 7 material incidents of discrimination, harassment and bullying (excluding cyberbullying); 3 cyberbullying incidents; 6 threats (other than bomb threats or false alarms); and 3 incidents involving use, possession or sale of drugs.
The data were offered as background for adoption of the district safety plan and code of conduct. The board discussed the report during the meeting; administrators will continue monitoring and reporting through regular channels.
