The Byron-Bergen Central School District Board of Education voted Aug. 22 to adopt a $9,385,010 tax levy for the 2024-25 school year and set the tax collection window from Sept. 1 through Oct. 30, 2024.
The resolution, moved by Board Member L. Smith and seconded by H. The motion passed 6 Yes, 0 No. The resolution states the district will levy a tax of $9,385,010 on taxable property within the district.
Board documents show town-level tax-rate detail used to compute the levy, and administrators noted the average tax rate this year is $19.76. Collection will follow a 60-day warrant period; the board directed the tax warrant be affixed to the rolls and the tax collector to make a written accounting at the warrant’s expiration.
The action was taken as part of the board’s regular business session and followed staff reports on audit timing and other fiscal items. No dissenting votes were recorded.
