Lucerne Valley Unified highlights student achievements, FFA results and employees of the month
Summary
Students and staff were recognized across campuses: ASB reported successful fundraisers and drives, LVHS FFA placed third in a High Desert competition, students of the month (including Giselle and Crystal Orozco) were honored, and Cynthia Parker and Zandra Miller were named employees of the month.
Trustees and staff spent a portion of the meeting recognizing students and employees across the district.
Student leaders and teachers reported holiday activities, food and toy drives, and ASB fundraisers (over eight dozen donuts and about 100 cups of coffee sold by ASB). LVHS FFA representatives said the district sent six students to the High Desert Career Development Event, where the team placed third. One teacher described a student: "Giselle brings a great attitude to class every day," and praised her academic work and leadership.
The board also recognized certificated employee of the month, Cynthia Parker, for instructional leadership and mid-cycle WASC work, and classified employee Zandra (listed as Xandra in one passage) Miller for improving attendance processes and supporting independent study audits. Trustees and staff thanked maintenance and operations teams for campus upkeep and for the Williams-report recognition of outstanding facilities.
