Board tables request for $100 quarterly elevator service supplement pending contract review
Summary
An elevator vendor asked for a $100 quarterly supplement to cover fuel/maintenance travel or an extended service agreement; the board voted to table action and asked staff to locate the current service agreement and request itemized mileage/expense statements.

The Chair read a request from the county elevator company seeking a $100 quarterly supplement to offset fuel costs for maintaining the courthouse elevator or, alternatively, a longer service contract that would fold the cost into a larger service fee. "They would like us to agree to $100 quarterly to supplement their fuel cost for maintaining our elevator," the Chair said.
Members questioned how often the vendor actually visits (one member said inspections occur about once a year) and recommended the vendor provide mileage and cost statements rather than an automatic quarterly payment. The Clerk asked staff to find the existing service agreement; without the contract on hand, a member moved to table the item pending review and the motion carried unanimously.
The board directed staff to provide the current contract and asked that the vendor submit supporting documentation of travel and costs before any contractual supplement or extension is approved.
