Council unanimously approves consent items; landfill well overhaul and senior mobility grant advance

The council approved the consent agenda and individual budget adjustments brought forward during the meeting. Patrick Craig, executive director of solid waste, explained that the landfill request (8.2) was a redrill and reconstruction of a 30-plus-year-old well whose casing had failed; the work includes a new pump and associated production equipment. The council approved the $200,000 request unanimously.
Staff also recognized $99,600 in Federal Transit Administration grant funding through UTA to support the Rise for Wellness senior mobility program; council approved that budget-neutral recognition unanimously. Earlier in the consent discussion, Kelly and staff outlined two letters of agreement with USU Extension Services funded by opioid settlement dollars for school-based programs: an SBIRT early-intervention program (new) and an expansion of the CREST family-prevention program (existing); staff said outcomes and indicators will be tracked in Sherpa and locations will be provided to council members.
