Council approved an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections grant of $9,000 to replace a community-corrections check-in kiosk and drug-testing kiosk. "This is a, state grant from the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for $9,000," a sponsor said on the floor. The council suspended readings and adopted the measure unanimously, 8-0.
Two additional appropriations also passed unanimously: funds from the Ohio Attorney General to upgrade probation case-management software so it interoperates with a county corrections system, and a $750 SCMR fund appropriation for a bond payment related to city work. All three items were described as grant-funded or routine obligations and required no local cash match at the time of presentation.
