Council denies West 46th alley abandonment, approves partial Divine Avenue closing

Madam Clerk read Item 8a, an order to close and abandon the unopened alley in the 1300 block of West 46th Street; Councilwoman Donley moved to deny the abandonment and asked staff to offer the applicant a temporary landscaping permit option. The motion was seconded and the council voted to deny the abandonment.
The council then considered Item 8b, a proposal to abandon a portion of unopened right-of-way in the 3600 block of Divine Avenue plus two adjacent alleys. Councilwoman Ollie said she had visited the site and supported approval. The motion was seconded and the ordinance passed on first reading with the conditions read into the record. Following the votes, staff will notify applicants about temporary landscaping permits and any conditions required for approved abandonments.
