Council directs Planning Commission to review LDR EV‑charging language to avoid conflict with governor's action

City Attorney Colin McNeil advised the council that the language should be reviewed for legal authority and that the Planning Commission and staff should evaluate legal risks; he noted the state attorney general had raised questions about the governor's executive order.
The council moved, seconded and voted unanimously to direct the Planning Commission to include amendments to the LDRs in its current fiscal-year work plan and to advise the council about timing and legal risk. Staff said the item will follow the normal Planning Commission review and public hearing process.
