Lucerne Valley CTE leaders cite rising credentials and hands-on training as programs expand

Jessica, the district CTE lead, told the board the program has added industry-standard facilities, student enterprises and new partnerships to expand hands-on opportunities for students. She said the district upgraded culinary, welding and auto shops, installed an augmented-reality welder for training and boosted articulation agreements so more courses can give college credit. "We have since surpassed that up to 72 percent of our students are college," Jessica said during the update.
Student ambassadors described outreach and on-campus enterprises that generate work-based learning hours. Jenesis Ayala said the student ambassadors ran events at career fairs and used social media to promote pathways. The presenters also pointed to measurable outcomes: 2011 hours of work-based-learning logged in 2025 and 432 industry certifications awarded across grades 9'12 in the most recent year. Board members praised the expansion and asked staff to continue monitoring completion and equitable access across grade levels.
