The compensation review board presented recommended salary and benefit changes that would raise the county commissioner president’s annual pay to $58,000 and county commissioners to $53,000, and would increase board of education chair and member stipends. The board also proposed aligning the treasurer’s retirement and pension to merit employees and allowing retiree health‑insurance eligibility after 10 years of service.
"For the county commissioner president, increased to 58,000. For the county commissioners, an increase to 53,000," Matt Cox, vice chair of the review board, summarized during the presentation. After brief questions about methodology and comparisons to neighboring counties, a motion to accept the volunteer board’s recommendations was moved and passed by voice vote.
