Council approved awards for surplus municipal equipment Aug. 5 but removed one item from the approval after staff reported an online bidding platform error.
Chief Administrator Michael explained that six items were on the list of surplus equipment, but that Munisibid notified the borough of a software glitch between its website and mobile platform that affected bidding on one item (the 2012 CAT 430E backhoe). He said Munisibid advised relisting the item; Munisibid will refund fees charged during the flawed auction. Bill from Public Works discussed sale proceeds and noted the borough will turn over approximately $142,652 in receipts without the backhoe.
Council amended the motion to exclude the 2012 CAT 430E and voted to approve the remaining items; the excluded item will be relisted for auction in the future.
