Chief Administrator Michael described the item as a multi-part ordinance that has been under discussion and reviewed by the planning commission and community stakeholders. He told council the advertisement is the first step in the formal process and that, "this is approval of a public hearing, which would take place on September 2." Council moved to advertise the hearing and asked administration to start the hearing at 6 p.m. to allow more time for public comment; staff agreed that starting earlier was feasible.
