Chief LJ Fazaro, chairing the special meeting of the Town of Groton Local Traffic Authority, introduced correspondence regarding request 2026708 to install a No U‑turn sign on Long Hill Road at its intersection with Bridge Street, which is a state highway under Connecticut Department of Transportation jurisdiction. Fazaro said he had discussed the location with CTDOT traffic engineers and received follow-up from Themba Bridal of CTDOT acknowledging several related items.
Fazaro told the authority he had "observed some problem traffic there, people disobeying the traffic signs and markings in this particular area, and I believe it's attributable to the Gold Star Bridge project." He said the item was noted in correspondence to CTDOT and that no local action was necessary at the meeting because CTDOT was engaged on the issue. The authority did not vote on local signage at the meeting; Fazaro indicated the matter was being handled in coordination with the state traffic office.
