Gino Barrichello, coordinator of Berkeley's Indigenous Peoples' Day events, thanked the council and invited the community to the 32nd annual powwow and Indian Market on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park. Artlin Juno performed a ceremonial song at the dais as part of the presentation. "It's a free event," Barrichello said, inviting families and emphasizing the celebration's cultural and educational focus. The council's remarks stressed that the proclamation aligns with ongoing stewardship and outreach to local tribes.
