Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the council that a partnership with Cochise County to site a county animal shelter in Huachuca City would be beneficial to the town. "It would be a benefit to the town to work with Cochise County," she said during the Jan. 8 meeting.
Following discussion, the council authorized submission of a letter stating the town supports the proposed county animal shelter. The motion was moved by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg and passed unanimously. The minutes do not record a draft of the letter or identify distribution recipients; staff will draft and send the letter as authorized.
Council members framed the action as supportive and preliminary; no funding or detailed commitments were made at the meeting.
