Council accepted an in-kind donation from the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTEC) consisting of safety equipment — traffic cones, high-visibility gear and similar items — with an estimated value of about $6,000.
Streets staff Ben said the donation came as part of a drawing LHTEC runs for municipalities and will bolster training and field operations. "We received about ... $6,000 equivalent of safety equipment, like newts, safety cones, things like that," Ben said. Council voted to accept the donation unanimously.
