Council authorizes limited design services for municipal library refresh

Jandy, representing the library, said "We've been in the building since 2009. We've never had the building... repainted," and staff noted the improvements would be funded from the library capital fund and could transfer to the police department if the council decides to repurpose the building later. City staff and the consultant provided a larger overall estimate, but council limited approval to the first phases (not to exceed $15,500) to obtain reliable cost estimates without committing to full project funding. The motion to authorize the contract at the limited scope passed 7-0.
