Council approves amended Multer Road overlay agreement; construction targeted for spring 2027

Council approved the Multer Road overlay agreement after considering a late amendment from the Washington State Department of Transportation that increased the engineering estimate by about $2,000.
Kyle, staff lead on the project, said WSDOT sent an amended sheet revising the engineering estimate from $141,975 to $143,975. "They sent us an amended sheet that calls for a total estimate of $143,975. That represents a $2,000 increase for what WSDOT has termed state services with regard to engineering," he said. Council moved to amend the estimate in the agreement and then voted to approve the agreement as amended.
Ben told the council the design will begin this year and the project is planned for construction "as soon as the plants open next year," with staff hoping for spring 2027 construction. The motion to approve the amended agreement passed unanimously among members present.
