Council gives support for Pavilion Park playground; RCO technical review scheduled Aug. 17

Staff reported City Council’s full support to move forward with Pavilion Park playground planning and that the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) scheduled a technical review presentation on Aug. 17 for the grant application.
Staff told the commission that City Council has given full support to advance planning for the Pavilion Park playground and that the commission’s next step is to present the grant application at an RCO technical review on Aug. 17. The commission was asked to volunteer a member for the council report on Aug. 18; a volunteer was confirmed during the meeting.
Staff asked the commission to keep fingers crossed for a favorable RCO outcome and noted that, following the technical review, the city will await RCO's decision. The commission will report back to council and coordinate next steps depending on the grant outcome.
