San Juan County library awarded 2026 Community Library Enhancement Fund grant; America250 events scheduled

The commission approved the 2026 Community Library Enhancement Fund grant agreement between the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement, State Library Division and the San Juan County Library System. Assistant Library Director Mikaela Ramsey presented the grant to the commission; the motion passed unanimously.
Ramsey and committee members also previewed America250 events for the community, including a presentation and discussion of the book '1776,' a traveling display called 'Pen is Mightier,' a musical program 'Sounds of Freedom,' a community potluck and a walking fitness program. The first activity was scheduled for the evening of Feb. 17.
