Susan Flavel, president of SPEAR, asked the commission to approve a letter to the U.S. Department of Interior and Bureau of Land Management seeking reauthorization of existing trails (Trail #4, Trail #43, Trail #44, Trail #45, Trail #48 and Trail #49). "The letter will help in securing grants from the Utah Outdoor program for the desired trail upgrades," Flavel said.
BLM Field Manager Jake Palma, who was present in the audience, expressed his support for the grant applications. Vice-Chair Jamie Harvey moved to approve the letter with Commissioner Stubbs seconding; the commission voted unanimously to authorize the letter.
