Kirkland police report: 109 reportable activities in December; towing history shared

Police Chief Adam Davenport told trustees the Kirkland Police Department handled “one hundred and nine (109) reportable activities for the month of December 2025.” The packet presented by the chief included trimester crime statistics, a breakdown of traffic enforcement (69 tickets issued, 119 warnings), three traffic crashes, and 11 domestic-violence calls. Chief Davenport also noted all officers completed annual sexual-harassment training and highlighted the department’s Shop With a Cop event.

Chief Davenport provided administrative-tow history and argued that impounds create mandatory preparation and adjudication costs that remove officers from street duty. The packet lists many 2025 tow incidents by officer and date and includes a peer-fee comparison to justify the ordinance raising administrative towing fees.
