Public commenter asks for details on property appraisals tied to dairy road project

During the public-comment period Cheney Moses asked the commissioners for details about property appraisals related to road work for the dairy. "I was just curious. You guys mentioned that Warren Agency is doing property appraisals. I was wondering if you could tell me more about the nature, about how many acres, why they're doing the appraisals," Moses said.
Chair responded that appraisals are for right-of-way to widen 1000 West for a new road serving the dairy, including a shift from a 36-foot right-of-way to 50 feet so the county can build a better road, add ditches for drainage, and move poles. If landowners do not donate the needed acreage the county will purchase based on appraised values, the Chair said.
