Council votes to light lighthouse for August; moves into closed session over pending litigation

The Havre de Grace City Council voted 5–0 to light the city lighthouse for the entire month of August in memory of the late artist Ezra Berger and in recognition of mental-health awareness. Council President Johnny Boker made the motion and council members approved it by voice vote.
Later in the meeting, the council voted to enter a closed session under the Maryland Open Meetings Act to consult with the city attorney about pending or potential litigation. The council cited the attorney-client privilege provision (General Provisions Article §3-305(b)(8)) and said any votes taken in closed session will be recorded in the minutes of the next public meeting (Aug. 17).
