Board recognizes Students of the Month and names certificated and classified Employees of the Month
Summary
Board acknowledged several students across grade levels for Student of the Month honors and recognized Carrie (certificated) and Mariah Cox (classified) as employees of the month for instructional innovation and facilities/maintenance contributions.
The board paused to recognize individual students and staff for recent achievements.
Teachers and administrators introduced the student of the month honorees (Melody, Harlow Johnson, Iris Guzman, Leonardo Gutierrez) and read nominations describing academic effort, leadership and classroom contributions. The board praised the students for leadership and strong performances in athletics and arts.
District staff also presented employee awards. The presenter described Carrie as a dedicated second-grade teacher integrating hands-on learning strategies and named Mariah Cox as classified employee of the month for facility improvements and steady maintenance work, noting a ‘‘hand painted logo’’ added to a district wall as an example of her contributions. The presenter said, “we're proud to recognize Mariah Cox as our classified employee of the month for outstanding dedication and contributions to our maintenance and operations department.”
Board members offered thanks and encouraged continued recognition of staff and students in future meetings.
