Board names Assistant Superintendent Megan Aseltine superintendent; approves three-year contract

Board President Dan Freeman read a statement noting Aseltine's 15 years with the district, prior roles including Director of Special Education and Assistant Superintendent, grant successes exceeding $15 million, and her role in curriculum, MTSS and Community Schools partnerships.
Speaking about the decision, President Freeman said the Board "felt confident moving forward with an internal candidate" and added, "The Board is excited to support Megan as she steps into this role and helps guide the district into its next chapter." The motion to approve the contract was moved by Dr. Mark Chao, seconded by Mr. Devin Savage, and carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. The Board also formally recognized Superintendent Margaret Clauson's retirement effective June 30, 2026 and thanked her for leadership during the past 11 years.
