Board approves IGA with North Cook ISC to secure regional alternative-education options

Administration presented and the Board approved an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the North Cook Intermediate Service Center (NCISC) that gives District 69 access to the Regional Safe School Program (RSSP), High-Needs Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP), West 40 virtual ALOP options and Student Advocacy ALOP. The IGA was presented as a proactive measure to ensure access to intensive academic and mental-health supports if district students require those services.
"NCISC provides a range of services to support students, including the Student Advocacy Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP), which addresses behavior, social-emotional learning, academics, and attendance," administration said. The agreement was included on the consent agenda and approved by roll call as part of the consent items; the Superintendent was authorized to sign the final agreement on behalf of the Board.
