Skokie SD 69 sees strong uptake of newly offered vision insurance

Nancy Bellosa, EBC account representative, told the Insurance Subcommittee that the district added vision coverage after employee requests and committee review. "Participation significantly exceeded expectations, with 76 employees electing Employee Only coverage and 38 electing Family coverage," Bellosa said.
Bellosa said the vision plan launched July 1, 2025, and that the subcommittee will continue to monitor enrollment and utilization during the annual benefits review cycle. Committee members noted the high take-up as evidence of employee interest in expanding non-medical benefits alongside core medical, dental, and vision options.
