MEDC representative Mike Kowski told the Visit McKinney board that attendance and engagement at the Byron Nelson event produced strong visitation metrics. "Over 4 days, the number of times we may cross our threshold was 35,000," he said, and added that Saturday saw more than 1,000 people in the hospitality area in one hour.
Kowski said surveys of participants showed positive feedback about connections made during the event and that organizers would prepare an after-action report for the executive director to capture wins and lessons learned. He highlighted that many attendees used the hospitality suite to meet local merchants and that post-event stories could yield longer-term visitation gains.
