EDC hears details on Sister Groves wastewater facility expansion plans

Paul Grimes reported on a tour of the Sister Groves wastewater facility and gave staged capacity figures the city expects as the plant expands. "Right now, they're gonna do, I think, 16,000,000 gallons a day. Then it'll go to 32, then they'll double that to 64. Ultimately, that facility can be built out to 128,000,000 gallons a day of wastewater treatment," Grimes said.
Grimes described the facility as "massive" and noted it uses biological, chemical and mechanical technologies to treat wastewater. He presented the update as part of broader infrastructure briefings to illustrate the scale of regional water and wastewater investments.
