Council approves $1.68 million GMP amendment for Public Works campus

The council approved a first amendment to the construction-manager-at-risk (CMAR) agreement with Donlinger and Sons for the Augusta Public Works campus.
Tim Johnson, public utilities director, said the amendment establishes a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $1,682,989 to cover two pre-engineered buildings, including supplies, erection, surveying, insurance, bonding, permitting and CMAR fees. "The amendment establishes a guaranteed maximum price of 1,682,989 for the pre engineered buildings," Johnson told the council while describing the scope.
Staff explained the amendment adds two line items (building supplies and erection) to previously authorized scope items and that those costs are budgeted in the bond. Donlinger will return within 30 to 45 days with the remainder of the not-to-exceed price for council approval. The council moved to approve the GMP amendment by formal motion and the chair declared the motion carries.
