Engineers to evaluate resident request for ‘AI‑ready’ infrastructure; spare conduit seen as inexpensive

Rick Pomeroy, the owner’s project manager, said the design electrical engineer reviewed the submission and found parts of it excessive but agreed that adding spare conduit into the building is inexpensive and appropriate to consider during design development. "Additional conduit into the building is inexpensive," Pomeroy said; engineers will incorporate reasonable redundancy and return to the committee with a specific conduit plan.
Pomeroy urged caution against over‑specifying unproven systems and said engineers need to understand where the request originated and how it was generated before committing to detailed infrastructure changes. The committee asked staff to have the electrical team propose spare-conduit locations and capacities in the next design‑development package.
