Wabasso board elects officers for 2025, names banks, legal counsel and sets pay

The Independent School District 0640 Board of Education elected Josh Goche as chairperson and Travis Welch as vice-chair at its organizational meeting on Jan. 27, 2025. Tom Carlson nominated Goche for chair and the motion carried unanimously; Travis Welch was elected vice-chair by unanimous vote.
The board also made a series of organizational appointments for 2025. It designated Integrity Bank Plus and U.S. Bank as the district's official depository banks and named Integrity Bank Plus the official payroll account. Novak Law Office was appointed general legal counsel and Knutsen Flynn & Deans the district's school specialists legal counsel. The board designated the Redwood Gazette as the official district newspaper.
Board compensation for 2025 was set by motion. The board approved annual salaries of $800 for the chairperson and clerk, $400 for the treasurer and $250 for members of the negotiation team. The board set meeting and representation pay at $40 for regular and special meetings and $40 for representing the board at outside organizations. All organizational motions carried unanimously.
