Board approves closed-session actions, consent items, intergovernmental agreements and IASB delegate authority

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Somonauk CUSD 432 board approved closed-session minutes and records actions, passed the consent agenda, authorized an IASB delegate, approved intergovernmental agreements with Leland and Sandwich for 2026–27, and adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
The board took a series of formal actions at the Nov. 18 meeting. In motions stemming from closed session the board approved the closed session minutes of Oct. 21, 2025; voted not to release closed session minutes from May through Oct. 2025; and authorized destruction of closed session audiotapes from Dec. 2023 through May 2024. The minutes record Norm Johnson as the mover on those actions with recorded unanimous votes from members present.
The consent agenda (minutes, treasurer's report, cafeteria and enrollment reports, FOIA report and other routine items) was approved by motion of Norm Johnson, seconded by Erik Wold. The board also approved intergovernmental agreements for the 2026–2027 school year with Leland School District and Sandwich School District. For the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Delegate Assembly the board moved that Corey Britt be granted authority to vote at the Nov. 22, 2025 Delegate Assembly with independent discretion reflecting board consensus. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. after a motion by Mike Short.
