On March 24 the Nobles County Board approved awarding Contract 26003 (2026 paving on CSAH 10 near Worthington and CSAH 4 and 21 near Round Lake) to Knife River, the low bidder at $4,931,376.36. Commissioners noted the bid was approximately 3.82% above the engineer's estimate of $4,749,829.50.
Three bids were received for the paving contract; County staff provided an abstract of bids in the meeting materials. Commissioner Gene Metz moved to award the contract to Knife River; Commissioner Bob Paplow seconded and the motion was recorded as passed.
The board did not discuss a construction schedule during the open meeting; standard contracting steps will follow award.
