Facilities staff member Mr. Stark told the board summer maintenance is well under way: annual boiler servicing is complete for most buildings, new boilers are being installed at El Dorado and Limekiln (projects funded through a transfer to capital in the 25–26 budget), and HVAC filter replacement is underway across buildings. He said painting, cleaning and floor work continue and the team will report building-by-building progress in future meetings.
Stark said a contractor that performed roof penetrations for venting did not properly seal some penetrations, causing water intrusion; the district has worked with the contractor to ensure they will cover related repair costs and the district is reducing payments to account for damages. He also described progress on the district's 2021-authorized energy performance contract: "Those unit ventilators... are in the process of being delivered as we speak," and installation will continue into evening shifts and through the school year.
