FCPS to issue student ID cards for bus tap system and tracking

Dawson said every student, regardless of grade, will be issued a student identification card after school starts; students who ride buses will tap the card to check on and off the bus so transportation can verify rosters and detect if a student is on the wrong bus.
He said the system will allow parents to receive notifications if students were not on the bus and, once fully operational, will enable families to track buses. FCPS has produced flyers and online resources to explain distribution and use of the cards.
