Board presses applicant on drainage design after CHA flags technical items

Board members focused on stormwater and erosion-control design after CHA’s review identified technical items that must be addressed before approval. The applicant reported conducting infiltration tests the morning of the meeting and said the measured rates were a little better than the book values used in the drainage report.
"We did the infiltration testing today, this morning, and the values came back a little bit more infiltrated a little bit better than what our book values were," Sam Boyse said. He added the team will keep the drainage report consistent while responding to the reviewer’s technical points. Members suggested conditions and inspections tied to detention pond B, including a requirement that that facility be constructed and inspected before other site work proceeds.
CHA comments recorded by the board included requests to show emergency spillways and to confirm freeboard for the 50-year design storm; the reviewer also noted potential backflow risks at a proposed catch-basin rim. The board said it would set inspection milestones and expects the applicant to resolve CHA’s comments ahead of the Aug. 19 continuation.
