Conservation board seeks tree replacement and runoff fixes after unapproved access road at Gallus pool site

Chair opened the Gallus in‑ground pool discussion by saying the project began construction and used an access route that deviated from the approved plan. “They begun work. Believe they were issued a stop work order or at least a pause, as they put in an access road, in a spot that was not approved,” the Chair said.
Board members discussed visible grading, the slope of the site and possible impacts to adjacent properties. The Chair requested that any trees removed because of the deviation be replaced, preferably in similar locations so the path does not remain visually perceived as a permanent access road. A committee member emphasized replacing vegetation and asked that any unintended runoff from the new grading be remediated.
No formal approval was granted in the meeting; the board said it would make recommendations on a revised site plan and expects the applicant to request a modification formally. The board also noted that the parcel is in the limited development district and that permanent roadway or permanent structure concerns differ from short‑term construction access.
