The Board of Trustees voted Feb. 2 to grant a special-use permit for 324 E. Sauk Trail, changing the proposed use from "general automotive repair" to a narrower "tire repair facility" and adding a requirement that tire storage be contained in a dumpster or cage behind the building. Mayor Terry Matthews asked for the amendment during discussion; Trustee Eric Stanton moved to amend and approve, and Trustee Daryl Crudup seconded. The motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote.
Attorney Matt Welch (noted in the minutes as Attorney Welsh/Welch) told the board that outstanding building-code or property-maintenance matters would remain subject to enforcement by the Building Department. Applicant Mr. Nasel Ali explained at the meeting that no outdoor auto repair would occur, that work would be conducted inside, and that he must provide an Illinois tax number and obtain final building and fire inspections before the clerk issues a business license.
