Police near full staffing and fire chief highlights EMS appreciation and new captain

He also announced the fall Police Academy dates, "Our fall Police Academy is scheduled for September 8th – October 27th," and invited interested candidates to an informational meeting on July 21.
Fire Chief Greg Brett introduced Dennis Moore as the new captain of C‑Shift, recognized National EMS Appreciation & Awareness Week and said the department presented gifts to all 23 employees as a token of community appreciation. Chief Brett also noted the recent passing of Charles Willgus, who had been influential to the fire department since its early days.
The council thanked first responders and recognized recent memorials in city parks during mayor and council comments.
